4/9/09Just wanted you to know what a delight it is for me to shop at Rouses. I have just returned to live in my hometown of New Orleans after 37 years that has taken me to Tennessee, Texas, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Colorado and most recently California. I am presently enjoying "everything New Orleans" and "everything Louisiana." I love to shop and explore among all your wonderful products and displays, knowing how accurately they represent the southern Louisiana culture and way of life. In all of these other states that I have lived, I have never seen any retail enterprise so completely devoted to its locality. Being back in New Orleans is fabulous and shopping at Rouses is a big part of it! Thanks so much for your devotion and expertise at what you do.

Yesterday, I visited your new store in Youngsville, Louisiana. This was my first visit to the store although my wife and daughter have visited a couple of times before. My first impression of this store is exceptional. We purchased chicken from the deli and it was wonderful! The salad bar was very fresh and all selections on the bar were great! The desserts are wonderful also! We purchased other groceries and we are very pleased with the prices. I know this store is new, but please ask the local management to keep up the great job and they will be very successful. I visited the restroom while I was there also and it was very clean. Thanks again for a great first appearance in the new store!

I just finished my Thanksgiving shopping at your Tchoupitoulas store and wanted to compliment you on the wonderful job you are doing at that location! I returned home and thought That you all must get your share of complaints, so I decided to pass along some well deserved positive feedback.
I have been shopping at that location since it was The Real Superstore and there has _never_ been such great customer service as you all provide now. I purchased from just about every department in in your store and _all _the employees were very courteous and helpful. From the greeter at the door, to the produce department, to the meat department, to Bakery, to frozen foods to check out, they really shined and had a genuine smile on their faces!
In addition to the service, the store was clean, and well stocked. I also appreciate your including such a good representation of clearly labeled Louisiana products! As a native of Louisiana, it makes me really proud to shop at a Louisiana business that does such a great job and obviously takes pride in their product (s)!

I wanted to send a brief note of appreciation for the outstanding service and dedication of your staff and administration to open your Thibodaux store on Canal Blvd so quickly after Hurricane Gustav and remain operational even through Ike. With all the chaos of such disturbances it was truly a respite to walk into someplace with a semblance of normalcy. Thank you and especially your front line staff!

Dear Mr. Rouse,
I would like to take this opportunity to tell you how much I appreciate the associates at your Mandeville, East Causeway Approach store. They are always courteous and helpful. I would especially like to tell you about one of your store directors, Jason Martinolich. I go to the Mandeville store every week, there was a product that I used to get at the Sav A Center on Hwy. 22 also in Mandeville. The product was the Lipton Garlic and Herb dry soup mix which I use as a sauce and also on potatoes. I had asked and even brought a box to the store but never saw the product on the shelf. When your company bought out the Sav A Center store on Hwy. 22 I went to see if that location would still have the soup mix. The store did, so I proceeded to buy 6 boxes and then went to the East Causeway Approach store to do the rest of my shopping. I love that store and the people that work there, on leaving the store Mr. Martinolich asked if I had found everything I needed and if I needed help to my car (I shop for 2 households so I usually have a lot), this was the day I had gone to the Hwy. 22 location first. I told Mr. Martinolich about the soup and going to another location first. He said he would check into it and the soup is now sold at his store. I would like to thank both you and Mr. Martinolich for a job well done.

I've been meaning to write to you all and thank you for offering such a great selection at your Airline Drive/#27 store. I am so happy that you have a section of natural health & beauty products for us people who like products with a little less "stuff" in our beauty regimen. I especially love the Kiss My Face Tea Tree & Olive Oil bar soap. I must also commend you on the large variety of teas you carry at this store. I can stand there for a good 10 minutes and just stare! I also buy the Boar's Head brand of deli meats. I am exceptionally picky about the small amount of meat that I do consume and am so happy that I can give my business to a local company offering an all-natural variety. Keep up the great work and I'll keep coming back!

A quick note to tell you how much I appreciate your Gulfport operation. I live 3 miles from the store and go in at least 5 times a week. Rouses and the store manager John Boyd have done a spectacular job here. The store is super clean, well stocked, has great variety, good competitive pricing, a clean parking lot without a bunch of carts strewn about, and most importantly (for me), happy, enthusiastic employees.
Your employees are extraordinary. They all seem to have great dispositions. All of them. The stockers, cashiers, management people, and especially the deli people. If I ask about an item, the employee will usually take the time to walk me to it.
The deli manager Charlotte does a great job. All of her people are smiling all the time. Her enthusiasm is contagious, apparently.
The hot food is attractively displayed and always replenished. The chicken & sausage gumbo is definitive, the meatloaf is perfect, the liver & onions always cooked perfectly. Never overdone. When you start with quality ingredients, you get quality product. I have always believed you can't make chicken salad out of chicken s***. Rouses must be thinking along the same line.
Attitudes, good or bad, start at the top and work their way down to the line employees. You and your family have my thanks for doing a great job consistently.

Please extend my compliments to the Managers of the Clearview and 2900 Veterans stores for an outstanding job. I shopped at both stores this week. The checkouts are super fast with courteous and efficient staff. The consistency of operation is amazing no matter what time of day or night. I applaud the magnificent job done! (I endured many years of Sav-A-Centers, where I would just leave my groceries much of the time as the check out lines were awful.) I would be pleased to do a testimonial of your fine service anytime.

I live on Dumaine St. not far from your Carrollton store that you bought from Sav-A-Center. I would like to commend you on your really good job of creating a friendly, quality store in our neighborhood. My wife and I used to be Sav-A-Center customers and were a little concerned when you took over and got rid of the self-check out machines. I have had issues in the past with cashiers not being friendly or just plain rude so the self check out was good. I no longer have that problem with your store and I think you deserve a lot of credit for teaching the younger check out cashiers the correct and friendly approach to checking out.
I also thank you for your quality produce and would like to say that the creole tomatoes you now have are the best I have had in years, and the friendliness of the staff in the dairy dept. who kept our favorite yogurt in stock was also very much appreciated.
In short I would like to thank you for being here for us and our friends and improving our quality of life in our neighborhood.

My wife and I moved back to Mississippi two years ago after living 12 years in Atlanta. Before the move we realized we would be giving up many conveniences and amenities by leaving such a big city and moving to the rebounding Gulf Coast. I work in Gulfport and live in Biloxi and have not been too crazy about the existing grocery options in between. I first heard of Rouses from a grocery ad in the Sun Herald and decided to stop by a few weeks ago. My shopping experience was incredible, first with a convenient location (Gulfport), crawfish for sale at the entrance, a friendly staff, a clean store, bountiful fresh produce with an organic section, an awesome-looking salad/fruit bar, impressive beer selection, sandwich section, fresh meats and the list goes on. To end my shopping I was amazed to see no waiting at the registers which were all open and this was after 5pm. I felt like I was back in Atlanta at one of those fancy stores like Publix or Harry's except Rouses has fresh crawfish and a New Orleans flare. Louisiana must be proud to have yall throughout their state. I'm sold on Rouses and will continue to shop there. Thank you for opening up in Mississippi and being here for us as the Mississippi Gulf Coast continues to rebuild.

I'm being honest when I write that our family was disappointed as we realized our neighborhood Sav-A-Center was being sold. Coming from Pennsylvania and New Jersey, we had no prior knowledge of Rouses Markets, but we did continue to shop there. I now want you to know Store #40 (located at 3164 Bienville Blvd, Ocean Springs, MS) is, in our family's opinion, a fine addition to the neighborhood. The produce and meats are attractively presented and are of excellent quality, the store is clean and well-stocked, the pricing is very fair, you offer great sales, and the personnel have to exceed ANY CEO's expectations. In a word, they are "wonderful!" Each of the many employees (and we include the youngest ones!) have shown none other than a mannerly side and a genuine willingness to be of service. That friendly and helpful attitude has been present whether we've asked for the location of an item, inquired about a special cut of meat, gone through a check-out line, or simply have handed over a shopping cart in the parking lot. My husband had been part of the business community all of his working life and has understood how valuable a work force is to any business. These are the persons the public faces and must deal with and as such represent the company in its entirety, whether in a positive or negative way. Our best wishes to Rouses Markets for your continuing presence in our neighborhood. We will continue to shop at 3164 Bienville Blvd and hope you can realize a nice profit, while respectfully serving the people of the Ocean Springs community.

I have recently moved to this area and started to shop at Rouses. The quality and much appreciated service is one of the best I have seen. Your staff at your store on W. Main Street, store number 6 I think, was very helpful. I needed help to get something off a top shelf and this very courteous young man helped me. Then this gentleman named Marshall also suggested that if I needed to check out with fast service with better customer service to come to his register. I walked to the register and first off he asked, and I quote, "Hello. How are you today?" then, "Thank you for shopping with us today. Please come back." You don't hear that from anyone at walmart or any other grocery chain. He also asked me if I would like someone to help me to my vehicle... unheard of in Nebraska. I just wanted to tell you how helpful Marshall was to me, and he does the same easy and fast service for your company. He is a true asset to your company.

When I visited the Rouses store in Kenner today I had a great time! I was greeted by a very sweet blonde-haired young lady. She helped me find all the items that I was having trouble finding, and when I checked out, she was helpful with my bags and I was very pleased! This trip was faster and more helpful than my trip to Walmart. And when it was time to go, the blonde-haired lady by the name of Jenell found me a buggy boy by the name of Zac to help me to my car. He was very respectful. Now you guys know that I would have NEVER had this type of service at Walmart.

As a consumer living in the southern part of Louisiana, I have to say times are still rough post Hurricane Katrina... And it seems everywhere I go all I hear still are people complaining or fighting, normally about silly stuff! This is why I felt the need to write a "thank you" note... King Cakes!!!... Yes, it's that time of year where we all go from one place to the other looking and trying to find that moist, super-filled king cake that isn't a huge disappointment... And we found it! I am a regular Manny Randazzo King Cake girl! Their king cakes are always moist and baked fresh all day. Never once have I ever received a king cake stale from them. But, when a co-worker of mine brought to work a Rouses king cake, cream cheese-filled, I couldn't believe how moist and fresh, but more importantly, how filled it was! NOW, that's how you fill a king cake! It was so delicious and moist and FILLED. So many other companies go very light on the filling to make the product cost go far, but we thank you for making sure every one of your king cakes gets filled FULLY EACH AND EVERY TIME. I usually shop at your Rouses location on Clearview in Metairie, Louisiana. I phoned and spoke to a most pleasant lady named Michelle. Please keep up the great service you offer your fellow neighbors and know that your efforts in the stores have not gone unnoticed. Thanks to all the employees at all Rouses Supermarkets!!! You all are doing a great job!!!

I wanted to say what a pleasure it was to shop at your store at 2900 Veterans Blvd today. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Whenever it looked like I was having trouble finding something, someone stepped up to offer assistance. The young man working in the parking lot even offered to help me load my groceries in the car. I haven't seen that in a very long time. I have never taken the time to say what a good job a store is doing, but it was just so refreshing to see that there is still some store with customer service that I just had to write.

I just wanted to say thank you for the great job Rouses has done with the newly acquired store at Napoleon & Tchoupitoulas in New Orleans. It's a real pleasure to shop there now knowing that there are never long lines. I go to the market far more frequently than before, knowing that I can get in and get out! Plus you all make a really good King Cake.

Good Morning. Sunday, January 6th I shopped at the Airline Highway Rouses. I am writing because Carol, I believe she was the store manager at the time I was shopping, noticed I was looking for something as I placed my items on the grocery belt to check out. Yes, I was searching for batteries. Carol immediately asked the brand I was looking for and walked to the area to get a pack for me. Wow!!! Terrific service from Carol and also the check-out clerk was very sweet.
One more note, as I entered the store a very nice woman was offering a taste of Rouses king cake. Naturally, since I love sweets and was starving, I accepted. Great tasting king cake. And, as much as I am embarassed to admit, I returned to the very nice woman and asked for another piece. Without hesitation she gave me another. I purchased 2 king cakes.
